Situated in Katy, Texas, Krause Children’s Center caters to children aged 6 to 17 and has the capacity to accommodate up to 700 youths each year. The majority of these children arrive at Krause Shelter unaccompanied, fleeing their countries of origin due to peril or extreme poverty, seeking asylum in the United States.
Krause offers a home-like environment, encompassing healthcare, education, recreation, vocational training, case management and mental health services. This support continues until they can be reunited with family members already residing here or an approved sponsor. Our dedicated staff, extensively trained to care for all children who come into the program ensure round-the-clock support and supervision. Our mission is to foster their personal and academic development, equipping them with the skills and resources necessary for fruitful lives upon reuniting with family members or a sponsor.
