Peggy Louise Carmody (July 28, 1929 – October 3, 2025) was a beloved wife, mother of six, grandmother, and cherished friend whose life was defined by kindness, curiosity, and community. Born in New Braunfels, Texas, and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Peggy and her late husband John raised their family in San Antonio before settling on the Guadalupe River near Sattler. Throughout her life she enriched every community she touched—participating in Girl Scouts, the Sierra Club, Master Gardeners, the Native Plant Society, and supporting her church families. Peggy’s warmth and love extended beyond her family to countless friends, students, and neighbors who found in her a generous spirit and a joyful companion.
Peggy was also a passionate supporter of youth and community programs, embodying both true partnership and philanthropy in her approach to service. Her dedication to making a meaningful impact will continue to inspire all who knew her.
