Angela M. Nazworth, APR, recognizes her role as Vice President of Strategic Communications & Marketing is not only about sharing Upbring's successes; it's about telling the story of children and families who will be forever be redefined as a result of Upbring's work.
Angela leads the marketing strategies, marketing communications, collateral material development and public relations activities for Upbring, a role that has allowed her to harness her love of marketing, communications and community impact.
In 2016, Angela joined Upbring to cultivate a culture of storytelling to help staff, volunteers, supporters, donors, the community and key groups and stakeholders understand Upbring's impact in the community. Angela translates Upbring's mission to programs, development and fundraising efforts to the real-life experiences of children and adults affected by child abuse.
During her professional career, Angela held roles in multiple sectors of public relations and marketing, including entertainment, finance, education and nonprofit. Prior to Upbring, she served as Director of Impact Communications and Storytelling as well as Director of Philanthropic Communications for the American Diabetes Association. Angela has also worked for several reputable companies where she wrote, self-edited and self-published news briefs and feature articles, directed the creation of promotional publications and managed internal and external communications strategies, programs and campaigns for a diversified financial services company with $3.2 billion in assets.
Angela earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Writing and Public Relations with a minor in Sociology from Houghton College New York and obtained Accreditation in Public Relations through the Public Relations Society of America. She, her husband, and their two children, live in Pflugerville, Texas. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, yoga, and traveling.
