Joel Bode is the retired Head of School of Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball, Texas, where he served as an educator and administrator for 35 years.

He began his career as a business education teacher at Martin Luther High School in Maspeth, N.Y.; Luther North High School in Chicago, Ill.; Holy Cross Catholic High School in River Grove, Ill.; Montgomery Junior High School in Montgomery ISD; and Westfield High School in Spring ISD. He later served as Assistant Principal at Wells Middle School in Spring before becoming Assistant Principal at Concordia Lutheran High School. He subsequently became Principal and later Head of School, a role he held for the final 14 years of his career.

Joel earned a bachelor’s degree in business education from Concordia University Wisconsin and later earned a master’s degree in school administration from Sam Houston State University.

From 2007 to 2008, he served as Board Chair during the final year of his four-year term on the Association of Lutheran Secondary Schools Board, which represents Lutheran high schools in the United States and internationally. He currently serves as a consultant for Lutheran high schools in coordination with the Lutheran Church Extension Fund and as a Board Member for Trinity Charter Schools.

He lives in Magnolia, Texas, with his wife, Judy, and they share four children and nine grandchildren.
